Raziela Rodriguez, LCSW
"Empowering teens and adults to find clarity, confidence and connection as they navigate life’s challenges and create lasting change."

Raziela Rodriguez Fort Lauderdale therapist for teens and families.JPEG

Hello and congratulations on taking a step towards your healing journey! Learning more about yourself through therapy is one of the most impactful experiences of your life and I am humbled to be considered a part of that process.

My expertise and approach may be a good fit for you if your current stressors are focused on life transitions, trauma responses, depression, anxiety, relationship or family conflict, challenges with emotional acceptance, mindfulness, communication or low self-esteem.

The work you do outside of session is as important as the work you do in session. I am intentional in my role as your professional support and guidance; the time, energy, and money you’re investing in your therapeutic care will be used in ways that support your emotional wellness long-term.

Together, we will identify meaningful goals and regularly evaluate your progress to ensure therapy is supporting the life you want to build. I believe you are the expert on your own life. My role will be to provide guidance, support and evidence-based tools while creating a space where you can feel safe enough to be honest, open and vulnerable.

Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.” This quote embodies a piece of my philosophy for the therapeutic process. I create a safe, non-judgmental space to accept where you are at the start of therapy while also creating room for growth and change.

Above all, I genuinely love the work that I do. It is a privilege to walk alongside you as you heal and grow to create the life you want and deserve.

I provide counseling for teens and adults at our beautiful offices located in Plantation and Fort Lauderdale. I also offer online therapy for those who reside in Florida via our secure telehealth platform. Contact me today for your complimentary consultation at 954-391-5305

My Counseling Services for Teens, Adults and Families in Fort Lauderdale & Plantation, Florida:

Counseling for Adults:

I take a trauma-informed, compassionate, and collaborative approach to therapy. Many of the adults I work with are navigating significant life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or the lasting impact of difficult life experiences. Whether you are struggling with a breakup, adjusting to a new stage of life, feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, or trying to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space for self-discovery and meaningful change.

Our past experiences often shape how we view ourselves, connect with others, and respond to life’s challenges. Together, we will explore those experiences with curiosity and self-compassion while developing practical tools to move forward with greater confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being.

Teen Counseling:

I approach therapy with teenagers with the understanding that they do not exist in a vacuum and that they often feel alone, misunderstood and overwhelmed. Together, we will explore all areas and relationships in their lives and use a strength-based approach to build emotional awareness and regulation, resilience, confidence and practical coping skills.

I value working closely with parents and families when beneficial while protecting confidentiality. I ensure parents have the support and information they need to support their child’s treatment goals and care for their own mental health.

My Story:

My desire to help others started when I was a young child.  As a child of immigrant parents, I witnessed firsthand their challenges to adapting to a new culture, learning a new language, building meaningful careers and raising a family while they grieved the life they left behind. Through both their struggles and successes, I developed a deep appreciation for empathy, connection, kindness and the importance of support during life’s most challenging seasons.

As I grew older, I continued to feel drawn to helping others, though I never envisioned it as a career. It wasn’t until I sought therapy myself during college that I experienced the profound impact of having a compassionate, unbiased source of support. That experience inspired me to pursue a career in mental health and solidified my calling to help others heal, grow, and navigate life’s challenges.

Over the past 10+ years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, each offering unique opportunities to learn and grow. While the populations and environments differed, one thing remained constant: my commitment to helping individuals discover their strengths, live authentically, and create meaningful change in their lives.

My Background in Psychology & Counseling:

I attended Florida State University for both my undergraduate and graduate degree in social work in 2012 and then obtained my licensure while working for the Broward County School District Student Services Department. I am currently providing psychotherapy in Spanish an English.

During the last fourteen years in the field, my client experience has ranged from families, teenagers and adults. I began my career in the educational arena and was a college professor as well. Since then, I have worked with veterans, first responders and civilian clients to process and heal from traumatic events, adults and retired clients to adjust to changes and major life transitions, cope with anxiety, depression and help improve the quality of the relationships in their lives.

I’ve had training in the following modalities that I implement in sessions according to the individualized needs of my clients: Cognitive Processing Therapy and trauma informed care, Emotion Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Positive Parenting, Internal Family Systems.

Fun Facts:

As a former personal trainer and lifelong advocate of fitness and nutrition, you will most likely find me at the gym, training for a hybrid competition, practicing yoga, or simply finding ways to stay active. I enjoy learning about fitness and nutrition and its undeniable impact on our mental health.

I am also a huge fan of comedy and enjoy attending live stand-up shows and local improv performances. Living in south Florida, I take full advantage of our year- round warm weather by planning beach days, taking my dog Riley to visit nature preserves and spending quality time with my family and friends.

Why Work With Me?

I believe therapy works best as a collaborative process, where you are the expert on your life and I bring clinical expertise, guidance, and support. As a bilingual therapist with experience in the field since 2012, I have worked with individuals across various settings and backgrounds, allowing me to create personalized and meaningful therapeutic approach tailored to each client’s unique needs. My approach is warm, trauma-informed, and adaptable, while providing insight, support, and practical, action-oriented strategies when needed.

I focus on helping clients apply the tools we discuss in session to real-life situations so that growth extends beyond the therapy room. I offer both in-person and virtual therapy services in both English and Spanish and offer counseling in Plantation and Fort Lauderdale, allowing me to support clients with diverse experiences and perspectives.

Most importantly, I genuinely love what I do. Having experienced the benefits of therapy personally, I understand the power of feeling heard, supported, and empowered throughout the healing process.
