“Helping children and families overcome challenges, strengthen their relationships, and find a sense of well-being."

Children and families today are facing unmatched challenges. Without the right tools, children can experience stress and frustration which can manifest in behavioral challenges that impact everyone in the family. Your child may be struggling to communicate with you about what they truly need and you are trying so hard to provide that much needed solution to the problems they are facing.

As a family therapist, I will help you and your child learn how to communicate in a more balanced, respectful and effective way. My role is to help your child get their emotional needs met in healthier ways and to help you feel more empowered to handle the challenges your child and family are facing. We will work collaboratively to help you identify your child and family’s unique challenges as well as the tools needed to address them.

My Services

Child & Adolescent Therapy:

In working with me, your child will learn to identify and communicate their wants and needs in a healthy manner.  Through this exploration, they will demonstrate increased confidence and an ability to implement age appropriate coping skills to manage their stress and frustration.

Family Therapy:

During these challenging times, families can often feel like they are struggling to connect and communicate.  We will work to help your family increase their use of healthy communication methods and enjoy more positive interactions.

Parent Coaching:

Despite the best intentions, parenting can pose challenges that you didn’t expect.  When your child is displaying challenging behaviors, how do you mange them?  What parenting strategies will work best for your family? We will work to create structure that best meets the unique needs of your family.  This process will involve setting age appropriate limits for your children and creating healthy boundaries within your home.

Individual Counseling for Adults:

In these increasingly difficult times, it may be challenging to manage our daily stressors.  You may be struggling with depression, anxiety, or trauma and have no healthy way to cope with these issues.  We will work together to identify the source of these concerns and identify the solutions to meet your individual needs.

Supervision for Social Worker Interns:

I offer supervision for registered social work interns.  We will work to identify your goals in the clinical setting and proactively address your needs as a supervisee.  We will work to create the appropriate learning environment to help you become the most effective therapist you can be for your clients.

My Story

I have always been interested in helping others.  As the daughter of a nurse, I have always been shown examples of how one individual can have an impact on the lives of others.  As a result of this influence, I have gravitated towards jobs that involve working with children and their families.  I have had the privilege of supporting families during extremely difficult times and have helped them find the tools they needed to overcome their challenges.

I have experienced challenges throughout my life and I was able to over come those challenges and develop resilience.  Through this experience, I have been able to help children and their families find the strength and resilience needed to face their challenges and achieve their goals.

My Background

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (SW 10382) with almost 20 years of experience working with children and families in a variety of settings.  I earned my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University and my Master’s in Social Work from Barry University.

My post-graduate experience has included significant clinical work with children, adolescents, and their families in the residential and mental health settings utilizing an combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, and trauma focused interventions.  I specialize in working with trauma, loss, adoption concerns, and behavioral difficulties.

Just For Fun

I am always on the hunt for the perfect meal and enjoy traveling to new destinations.  I enjoy scenic photography and visiting new places to snap.  Spending time with family and friends is my greatest joy.  I am always on the lookout for a new podcast to listen to, especially a true crime mystery.  Other hobbies include yoga, running, enjoying the outdoors, and listening to live music.

Why Work with Me?

I have always been able to connect with the children I am working with allowing them to feel supported while giving their parents the tools they need to manage their children’s behaviors during difficulty times.  Family issues are common, engaging in therapy is a part of self-care and an essential health care tool for families.

Taking that brave first step to begin therapy takes courage and I am here to support you through that.  I will help you, your child, and your family find relief from the difficulties you are facing and find the balance in your home that you have been seeking.  I provide a Telehealth counseling option with a secure online counseling platform for those residing in the state of Florida. I also offer flexible hours at our Fort Lauderdale and Coral Springs offices.
