"Working Together to Reclaim Your Life"
If you’ve gone through something particularly painful, you may feel like you haven’t been yourself since. You may even worry you’ll never be the same. I devote my time to helping adolescents and adults (ages 14 – 60) overcome trauma (as well as the problems that often accompany it, including self-esteem difficulties, family conflict, substance abuse and dependence, and self-harm) so that they can once again live productive and fulfilling lives.
In an environment that is safe and confidential, I quickly work to help my clients improve their self-knowledge, feel thoroughly understood, valued, and supported, and eliminate their struggles that led them to seek therapy. Since you’re here, there’s likely a part of you that hopes you can feel relief. There may be another part of you that, understandably, is uncertain about starting this process. Give me a call and we can talk about what you’re looking for and how I can help you get there.
Together, we can overcome the negative impact of painful experiences in your life by fostering self-understanding and creating strategies to achieve a balanced life. I collaborate with my clients to explore, recognize, and replace the thoughts and beliefs that contribute to their struggles.
For much of my time as a child and adolescent, I was an outcast from my peers, and lacked the crucial social support and guidance to help me through this difficult time. I knew I needed to discover a way out, a way to foster critically needed friendship, acceptance, love, and happiness. That is just what I did.
Through my own years in therapy, and as a result, consistently working to better understand and improve myself, I crawled out of a painful past to foster a much happier and secure future. Given my experiences and growth, I felt that now that I had helped myself, the best way I could help the world would be to help others.
For the past 6 years, I have centered my efforts on helping adolescents, adults, and family members, all deeply affected by various forms and degrees of trauma, overcome the effects of these traumatic experiences to establish healthier, more stable, and more functional lives. Doing so has become my life’s passion, and I hope to be able to share that passion and understanding with you so that we can work together to help you create the life you want for yourself.
I began my journey when I completed my undergraduate education in psychology at Ithaca College in New York. While there, I also completed 7 Masters level courses in Sport Psychology, which informed and strengthened my skillset and work as a head high school wrestling coach and psychotherapist.
I then finished my graduate level coursework at Argosy University in Orange County, California, which included my completing a year’s worth of doctoral level classes and work with clients in testing and assessment. I knew I wanted to be able to provide comprehensive testing, assessment, and care for those struggling with various conditions including learning disabilities and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, and completing this coursework allows me to do so.
Since that time, I have worked in various settings, including an inpatient/outpatient center treating individuals suffering from a combination of drug and alcohol abuse, as well as related psychological difficulties.
Afterwards, I worked at Phoenix House in Los Angeles, an adolescent group home for boys and girls. While there, I served as a therapist first, and then primarily as the Deputy Director of Mental Health, where my primary responsibility was consistently providing clinical and administrative support for the Mental Health Director. Additionally, in this role, I assisted upper management in creating quality improvement procedures, as well as enhanced policies and procedures.
I also helped reformulate and strengthen the campus’ activity schedule, group therapy schedule, and several other critical company activities for our clients and staff to ensure improved structure, consistency, and teamwork. Furthermore, I helped to create and implement a clinical mental health and drug/alcohol treatment program for our clients.
If you want to hear more about me and my approach to helping clients live their best lives, listen to this radio interview on Business Talk Radio.
When I’m not helping clients, you can find me engaged in a variety of activities.
I often read (I’m most passionate about nutritional health, holistic healthcare, the human body, movies, and of course, psychology) as I think maintaining a healthy and consistent life is dependent on consistent learning and growth.
I was a wrestler throughout my whole life (I started when I was 5 years old, competed in the Division I college level, and then became a head high school wrestling coach in California), and so seeing as though this is a critical part of my identity, I still often coach and wrestle.
Perhaps my biggest passion besides my work is in movies. I grew up fascinated by the late Roger Ebert’s movie reviews, and so I subsequently followed in his footsteps for writing such reviews for my high school paper. I continue to regularly see movies (1-3 a week) and write movie reviews (1-2 every 2 weeks).

Jordan is a kind, skilled, and open-minded therapist. As a colleague, I value his perspective and his friendship. I happily refer clients to him with the knowledge that they will be met with a warm, empathic, but challenging presence.
I think what strikes me most about Jordan is that in every discussion we have, he is incredibly thoughtful. His opinions are deliberate and considered, and for this reason I'm always interested in what he has to say.
I would most strongly recommend Jordan to clients who feel stuck, and who want and need a new view of an old situation. People who allow Jordan to witness and weigh in on their habits and behaviors won't be disappointed.

I have known Jordan as a friend and colleague for the past 9 years and have had the pleasure of seeing him flourish into a sound and effective therapist. He has a natural ability to listen and provide an empathic understanding to what another thinks and feels, that many other therapists cannot match. Jordan projects an energy that is full of care, compassion, and authenticity, and provides a perspective that can build insight and love for the self. I highly recommend Jordan to anyone who is willing to dive deep into themselves and take the steps necessary toward personal evolution.
