Wynette Green, PhD, LMFT:

“Helping Women and Couples Live Empowered and Improved Lives”

I work with busy women who often feel sad, anxious, and overwhelmed, but don’t know why. After unconsciously tending to everyone’s needs and desires, she sacrifices her own happiness and feels lost by focusing on everything outside of herself. She feels empty, exhausted, unfulfilled, and emotionally disconnected. All of the relationships in her life suffer including her romantic relationship, if existent; no true connection is present.

I also work with couples struggling with issues of poor communication, a lack of trust, and a lack of intimacy. Prior attempts to get on the same page continues to fail. You cannot seem to see eye to eye on any decision. Over time you both are beginning to feel like roommates instead of romantic partners.

My Story

As a child raised by a single parent, I struggled to identify with harmonious families and relationships. Having a parent who struggled with substance abuse challenges, I was determined to take a lemon situation and make lemonade. These were the events which lead to my decision to become a mental health counselor.

After 13 plus years of being a family woman, raising children, working daily, while pursuing my masters and doctorate degrees, I understand what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and stressed out. I’ve been there, I get it and I was able to overcome those struggles. This is why I am passionate about the women and couples I work with. I have successfully balanced these life stressors and love assisting my clients in overcoming these challenges and improving their quality of life. I can successfully assist you in living your ideal life.

My Background

With 15 plus counseling experience in the Broward County community, I have extensive experience providing individual, family, and group counseling. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the State of Florida, I also earned my Doctorate in Family Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University.

I’ve successfully facilitated a Women’s Empowerment group where the participants experienced an increase in their quality of life, self-love and ability to value themselves. As a systems-thinker, I take an integrative approach to treating my clients where Solution-Focused Brief Therapy is the foundational model utilized. I am also trained in evidenced-based Emotional Freedom Tapping, an approach proven effective for individuals who have experienced severe trauma.

Fun Facts

I love studying and reading self-discovery articles and listening to relaxing, soft inspirational music. My family and I love to spend quality time together. We enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, and traveling to the local theme parks throughout the state. I also love having fun and meeting new people.

Why Work With Me?

I bring encouragement, support, and positive energy to all of my sessions.  My clients who work with me gain clarity, peace of mind, work-life balance, and improved relationships. I offer flexible hours to accommodate my client’s busy lives by offering evening and weekend hours.

As a systems-thinker, I present a non-judgmental environment where your decision to come in and work with me will truly be a gift to yourself, an invitation to living a more fulfilled, higher-quality life.

"A lot of times, I felt like I was always the go-to person, and then I had to ask myself, who does the go-to person talk to?
It took me a really long time to finally go to therapy, and I’m glad I did. Wynette helped me to see things from a different perspective and I have learned so much about myself, and I’m still learning. Sometimes those uncomfortable sessions is what I really needed to see things the way I do now. My husband & I have also done couples therapy, and to be completely honest, if it wasn’t for God and Wynette, I don’t know if we would have made it through. Wynette takes you out of your comfort zone, and allows you to “feel” and this is what we both needed. My husband & I still have a long road ahead of us, but without Wynette we would not have made it this far."

“One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was to begin working with Wynette!! She’s been a blessing and a wonderful counselor since day one. She’s an amazing listener, always respectful, empathetic, and never judges. Wynette has been instrumental in my journey and growth over the past 2 years. I most value her ability to always remind me that the power, courage, and love required to heal and be happy lies within myself!!!”

“Our experience working with Dr. Wynette has been superior and well above what we expected. Her compassion and caring nature has helped us on our journey of healing.”

“My husband and I went to therapy after a major fight that left us lingering towards divorce. Neither of us was exactly excited about being there but after our first session felt that we had gained some insight on our marriage and how to communicate. We learned to express ourselves and welcome vulnerability during our sessions with Dr. Wynette. We really got to know ourselves better and this has tremendously improved all areas of our lives. She is a great therapist and that’s what we needed. It’s what saved us. We began to look forward to our sessions and really enjoyed practicing the techniques we learned. We arrived broken and confused, we left whole and confident. I don’t really have the correct words to describe how valuable our counseling was with Dr.Wynette. Our experience was just as she is-Priceless. We will remain forever grateful.”
