an investigation by means of interviews, observations of behavior, and administration of psychological tests that evaluates an individual’s personality, adjustment, abilities, interests, and functioning in important areas of life and that assesses the presence or severity of any psychological problems that the individual may have. It may contribute to the diagnosis of mental disorder and help to determine the type of treatment required.
